Snails and slugs are the bane of our life in our garden in Cornwall. Newly shooting veg will disappear all in one go overnight despite our best efforts. We refuse to use slug and snail poison so instead use a combination of natural predators or simply picking them off and taking them for a drive along to the headland to drop them off in the vegetation there, out of range. Here I was however fascinated by the snails choosing the green grooves of this window shutter to rest up. Perhaps we should install a green shutter in our garden to attract them all to make it easier to pick them off?
